Position Summary
Responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of project vehicles and equipment by assisting with repairing all types of vehicles and equipment through inspection and servicing of all vehicles, holding performance testing and repairing defective vehicle components under the guidance of 310T mechanic, monitoring, diagnosing and repairing of AVL and electronic driver's logs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Thoroughly inspecting vehicles and equipment and detecting any malfunctions or damages and performing repairs or replacements as needed using proper tools and equipment under the guidance of 310T mechanic
• Responsible for monitoring, diagnosing and repair of AVL system
• Responsible for monitoring, diagnosing and repair of electronic driver's log
• Diagnose problems and vehicle operation issues and recommend change of parts or any other necessary services for the vehicle.
• Maintaining daily maintenance records/reports and preparation of cost estimates for repairs and service requests. The above is a daily requirement and accuracy/timeliness is essential.
• Ensuring all company vehicles and equipment are safe to pass inspections and comply with provincial standards and regulations under the guidance of 310T mechanic.

Education and Experience
• High school or second or third year apprentices student
• 1 + year experience
• Driver's License with good driving record (required)
Work Conditions/Travel Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment.
• Routine exposure to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles.
• Noise level in the work environment usually moderate but on occasion can more than moderate.
• Required to be available for emergency response rotations as need for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must practice safe work methods to remain accident and injury free.
• Ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury or accident.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to your job.
