Worksite Safety Compliance Centreis looking to grow our current team of instructors, specifically for the delivery of our CPO-approved Working at Heights program.This Health & Safety Instructor will deliver training full-time at one of two locations inOttawa.There may also be an opportunity for this instructor to train others on confined space entry, first aid and/ormobile equipment use (forklift and elevated work platforms) in the future.The position reports to the Manager, Instructor-Led Training.
As a Health & Safety Instructor yourkey responsibilitiesare:
- Delivering engaging and informative Working at Heights training to job seekers, the general public and new and current members of the construction industry
- Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation
- Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hard copy participant records following training
- Participating in team meetings and instructor development workshops
The right candidate will have the followingqualifications and experience:
- 3+ years experience delivering training (Working at Heights program preferred)
- Background in construction management and/or other fall hazard-related industry
- Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred
- Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and confined space entry and rescue considered an asset
- Active certification as a Red Cross First Aid Instructor considered an asset
- Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training
- Self-starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
- Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
- Valid Ontario Driver Licence - occasional travel by car for work
- Able to legally work in Canada
